MRI review at Synergy Spine Center

The latest “fad” among spine surgery centers seems to be the myth of “free MRI review”.  Patients are advised to submit printed MRI or CT scan reports in order to receive recommendations for surgical treatment, often with an estimate of treatment costs.  Honest people know that something of real value is seldom received “free of charge”, and support legitimate fees for real medical services received.  Offsite evaluation is available at Synergy Spine Center for patients who live a distance away, or find it difficult to travel to our centers for optimal in-person evaluation.  Patients have the option of submitting actual MRI or CT scan films to our center along with a brief description of their symptoms and desired treatment goals.  At Synergy, the actual films and symptoms are reviewed by the surgeon who will be evaluating the patient and actually performing any planned surgical procedure – not a surrogate, or anyone else.  The treating physician will then contact the patient by phone to obtain a more detailed history and discuss the MRI or CT scan findings in the context of actual symptoms and desired treatment results. The patient is then advised as to whether they are a candidate for our treatment services.  If the patient is not deemed a candidate, the cost of travel to our facilities is avoided, and alternative treatment may be recommended.  If desired, a letter describing the patient’s symptoms, MRI or CT findings, and treatment recommendations is provided to the patient and/or their medical representative.

The current cost for this service is $250.00.  We think it represents an honest fee for an honest medical evaluation.  We think you will agree.
